MIAMI, Florida — Prostate Specialists of Miami is proud to announce that Dr. Adam Gropper recently delivered an informative lecture to the residents and medical students at Borinquen Medical Center.

The event, held on April 4, 2024, from 12-1 pm at the Borinquen Medical Center, located at 3501 Federal Highway in Miami, Florida, was attended by approximately 15 residents and 3rd and 4th-year medical students who joined virtually.

“It was a privilege to have the opportunity to share my passion for Interventional Radiology with the talented residents and students at Borinquen Medical Center,” said Dr. Gropper. “My goal was to provide a comprehensive overview of this rapidly evolving field and highlight its practical applications, particularly embolization procedures such as PAE.”

During his 45-minute lecture, Dr. Gropper provided the audience with a brief history of Interventional Radiology, an often misunderstood specialty not studied in depth. He then delved into the challenges faced by generalists in knowing when to refer patients to an Interventional Radiologist. However, he devoted most of his presentation to the embolization procedures commonly performed at his clinics Vivid Vascular and Prostate Specialists of Miami, including uterine artery embolization, hemorrhoid artery embolization, genicular artery embolization for osteoarthritis of the knee, and prostate artery embolization.

The Borinquen Medical Center Residency Training in Family Medicine is a three-year postgraduate program that provides residents with a comprehensive curriculum, regular lectures, conferences, workshops, and other educational activities. The program is designed to equip residents with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality, evidence-based care to their patients.
